SD cards are physically tiny solid-state memory devices that can store a lot of data even once the power has been removed. I bought new raspberries of the same model and tried the same setup with the same sd card model and they are OK.Unless you've been living under a rock you'll be well aware of the ubiquitous SD card. ![]() I bought new SD Cards and installed Raspbian again using Raspberry Pi Imager and as soon as I connected the new SD card to the damaged raspberry, the screen appeared and the SD card got damaged again. I tried to format them with windows formatting tool, also with SD Card Formatter software and also with my digital camera but didnt work. The size of all the cards are now 31MB (they were 16GB). If I put the card back in the PC card reader the PC does not recognize the card and asks to format. This raspberries worked in the first boot but they started to get broken at 2nd or 3rd boot What happens when you put the card back in the PC card reader?Ĭorrect. "The RPIs appear to get completly broken, the SD Cards get unrecoverable"Īre you saying that the system boots with the card and then fails or it fails immediately after the boot? So, if there is a problem flushing the data on the PC card reader you would see a blank MBR The Raspberry Pi Imager leaves the MBR blank until the end before writing it. If you are seeing issues with multiple Pis then it would suggest a problem the PC card reader. ![]() The bootloader is indicating that the partition table is empty. I also tried to recover the damaged sd cards in my digital camera but it didnt work, it always displayed an error message "format failed". Then I bought a usb card reader and problem still persists. I firstly used the built in laptop reader of Dell Inspiron 17. You may be able to recover the SD cards by putting them in a digital camera and using that to format them, you may also find that once you have another card reader it may be able to write an image on to the SD card correctly. If its a built in one I would suggest you try a recent USB one. Osmartinez what card reader are you using ? Or it can also be bad microSD slot on the RPi board (a very very rare occurrence).Īs the OP states tried on 6 pi4B's I would lean more to the card reader or SD cards Get a new microSD card (preferably from reputable brands bought from a reputable store)Īnd/or get a better microSD card reader/writer SXDC compatible. B) bad microSD card reader/writer during OS flashing. ![]()
